Kwong Shop Seafood, Karon Beach, Phuket

This was my first dinner at Karon Beach, luckily it was a really good dinner at the Kwong Shop Seafood.

Our first dish, grilled squid. I have to tell you guys, this squid is THE BIGGEST squid i've ever seen in my live. It was MASSIVE about 30cm long and 10cm thick..haha..
This whole portion is only 1 squid. It was so good..chewy (a bit too chewy though) with almost no seasoning and that was quite the best way to serve this really good quality squid.

Our second dish. The fish cake which I think was not really good..T_T
They put too much herbs and the coriander flavour was really dominating the whole fish cake.

Seafood fried rice. Well, a fried rice is most probably always nice..haha

This fish was the champion of that night. It was a red grouper and it was the best red grouper i've ever eaten in my live! Even my dad was silence for a moment after the first bite of that heavenly flesh. This was again so big in size but it's not about the size! It's about it's just-catched freshness.. They serve it in a garlic lemon sauce which was so fresh and a really well complement to this gorgeous fish.
I tell you guys, fish couldn't be any better than this..

Mom and Dad in front of the champion..

For the dessert, we ordered a batter fried banana with honey sauce. It was really sweet, not in term in flavour. But it was a really well combining of crispy fried banana with honey.

Red Mango, Phuket Central

Heyya frozen yoghurt lovers!
I think you've heard about Red Mango, a frozen yoghurt store originated in South Korea and has been franchised in many Asian countries..
In Indonesia, Sour Sally is the market leaders for frozen yoghurts and for your info, Red Mango is one of the frozen yoghurt seller that inspired Sour Sally =)
Sooo..straight to the yoghurt!
For everyone who has tried Sour Sally, Red Mango's yoghurt is creamier but less sour than Sour Sally. It was more like Heavenly Blush in taste.
For the toppings, they got almost the same topping with sour sally.
Peach my favourite..^ ^

As a matter of fact, I love aaallll kinds of frozen yoghurts. I can't say which one is nicer to another coz they got their particular specialties compare to another and it depends on everybody's palette to say which one is better.
Sooo..I'll give high rating for Red Mango =)

Chang Kata Beach

Just let's go straight to the food :)

Their free flow salad bar..
Onion, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, watermelon, pineapple..
With several dressings..

My creation XD
Tomato, onion, and pineapple salad with italian dressing..
hahaha..

This is one of Thailand's specialties..
Pineapple.
I dunno why, but their pineapple is just always sweet and juicy beside their not-really-appetizing light color.

Our first maincourse.
White snapper cooked in Thai style.
Steamed in garlic, chilli, and lemon garnished with lot of coriander which make this dish was so unbeatable.
For me, the best way to savor a fresh fish beside by sashimi-ing it is to just steam it with mild spices and let it's own juice shows its domination.
This dish was just perfect.
The fish itself was so fresh, good size and was cooked perfectly.
The balance of the garlic, chili, the tardness of the lemon, and pepperiness of the coriander really made this dish so special.

Grilled squid.
The squid was almost not seasoned at all.
But it was good.
The squid was chewy but not hard as a usual fresh squid should be.

The mussel?
Taste ok and really big portion..haha..
It was fresh and tasty but unfortunately they don't execute the sauce well.
The garlic butter sauce has no creamyness and was more like a garlic flavored oil than a sauce.

Momma and Daddy X)

Sweet treat to finish up the meals :)

Food Court at Central Festival, Phuket

Well, after a long vacuum from blogging, I'm back now!
This post is about my food trip in Phuket Town at the Central Festival (kind of a mall there). Well, we did have a not really good food there and I would love to share that experience in this post..=) hahaha
Enjoy!

A really nice pork stew! or sekba in Indonesian. This was particularly pork meats, innards, eggs, with a really nice sauce that works really well with them. Gotta try!

Takoyaki. Not good..T_T

My sister's japanese curry was also not good. It was like a curry that has been reheated for 2 times. Not fresh at all.

This dessert was quite decent, well all sweet things are good..haha..

Oyster omelette. They put 2 oysters in this whole portion. Taste like eating toilet paper.

My curry was quite good. I love curry very much and this curry really satisfied my appetite. It's tasty, bit spicy but really rich in all the curry's goodness you couldn't endure. 2 thumbs up for this!

Natalie's Kata Beach

After finishing all the goodies of KL..
We flew to Phuket just to enjoy nice warm sun and
freshest seafood there..yumm..yumm..
Natalie's was the first resto we visited there.
It's located on the opposite of our hotel, Kata Beach Resort.

Our first order : Sweet Sour Chicken.
From the first moment my mom ordered this one, I knew it was a big mistake.
You could find this menu evrywhere in Jakarta..T.T
Anyway..it was OKAY.

Pad Thai.
I haven't have any Pad Thai before, so this was the first time.
They used flat noodle and cooked it with prawn, squid, spring onion, garlic, and bean sprout.
And as the usual Thai cooking, you could taste the coriander.
For me personally, I didn't really like this one..T.T
Coz this is not a dry fried noodle as we used to eat, instead it was like an ooey-gooey fried noodle served with lime juice which for me was.. so unpleasant..
My dad loved it though. So, it's just a matter of everyone's palette.

Tom Yam Goong.
This tom yam is honestly so bad.
I just couldn't understand why did they serve bad quality tom yam goong in Thailand itself..

Fried Breaded Chicken.
Yea..my sister's order..
She just missed KFC so much..

Fish Cake.
This is what Thai Cooking is all about!
This Fish Cake is definitely gorgeous..
It is soooo tasty 'til you could fill your tounge doesn't want to be separated with it..hahaha..
Taste like otak-otak, but this is a more brilliant version of it.
Hint of coriander was really making a difference and the sauce was just a perfect match with it.

Fried White Snapper in Sweet Chilli Sauce.
The fish is definitely fresh, good size, and juicy inside.
But I prefer a good quality fish like this to be steamed, instead of being fried.
The sauce was good..
Perfect balance of sweetness, hint of sourness, and spicyness of the chilli.

Pork in Chilli Basil Leaves.
This dish is just perfect.
It is one of Thai's signature dish, and I should be grateful that I've tried it.
This is so good.
I just dunno how could the Thai be so genius to create a dish like this??

BLT Sandwich.

Nice big juicy grilled squid.
This is one of the biggest squid I've ever eaten in my life..haha..
Its flesh was a bit tough but it was juicy and grilled perfectly.
They only seasoned it with salt n pepper but it's all enough coz the squid itself is so good.

Hotdog.

Squid in Garlic Oyster Sauce.
Decent. I prefer the grilled one.

Noodle & Nasi Lemak, Alor Street

Nasi lemak!
One of the most appetizing street goodies you could find in Malaysia!
This is a good one that I ate in Alor.

Noodle soup..
A thing you could also find in almost every street of KL..

Warm barley..
Taste like soya milk..haha

Good fishcakes and fishballs for the noodle's accompaniment.

The Lao Pan..hahaha

They are all cheap.
Cost around 4-6RM per portion.
